Parenting Program
Fatherhood Is Sacred® Motherhood Is Sacred®
This 12-week course is provided by Native American Fatherhood & Families Association (NAFFA) created and designed this program for fathers and mothers using a Native American approach. The goal of the program is to strengthen families through responsible parenting. This course teaches parents to connect with their heritage as they become actively involved in the lives of their families.
Linking Generations by Strengthening Relationships
The Linking Generations by Strengthening Relationships 14-week course builds upon NAFFA’s Fatherhood Is Sacred® Mother Is Sacred® programs. These programs promote and build upon the position that parents are responsible in leading the way towards solutions that ultimately strengthen the family and community and move our people forward. Parents can best accomplish this goal by being responsibly present in the lives of their children and by taking the lead in understanding the needs of their families and their communities.
Addressing Family Violence and Abuse
This 14-week course builds off of NAFFA’s previously mentioned courses and promotes the safety and welfare of all family members. Abuse and violence are behaviors that are intended to attempt to maintain power and control over another. This oppression is cruel and unjust treatment to exercise authority over another. Oppression involves inappropriate and unfair acts and is a forced process of submission of authority to bring someone under control. The power of abuse lies in the submission. This course will bring about that awareness and provide skills and tools to end the cycle of abuse.
Building strong relationships is an important key to success in all aspects of our lives.
